The Story Behind My Work

I believe healing begins when we connect the dots between our mind, body, and spirit.

I'm Amber Bowers, founder of Bowers Counseling & Wellness. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Certified Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) Practitioner, Integrative Health Coach, and Eating Disorder Specialist, my work is rooted in one simple belief: healing happens when we look at the whole person—not just the symptoms.

Many of the people I work with have already done everything they can think of. They've been to therapy, seen specialists, changed their diet, read the books, listened to the podcasts, and worked hard to feel better—yet they still feel stuck.

That's often where our work begins.

Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" I ask, "What is your mind, body, and spirit trying to communicate?"Together, we'll explore the connections between your emotions, nervous system, physical health, relationships, and life experiences to uncover the patterns beneath the surface and address the root causes—not just the symptoms.

Outside of my practice, you'll usually find me hiking with my husband and our three children, spending time in nature, or diving into the latest research on the body's incredible capacity to heal. I'm endlessly curious, deeply committed to lifelong learning, and passionate about helping others experience the kind of healing I once searched for myself.

Why I Do This Work

This work is deeply personal to me.

For years, I struggled with chronic fatigue and unexplained health symptoms after having mono in high school. Despite countless appointments, I often left feeling dismissed, misunderstood, or told that everything looked "normal."

Eventually, I stopped searching for someone to give me the answer and began learning how to ask better questions.

That journey introduced me to neuroscience, somatic therapy, Neuro Emotional Technique, applied kinesiology, traditional healing practices, and the remarkable ways our emotions, nervous system, and physical health influence one another.

As my own health improved, so did my understanding of what healing could look like—not just for me, but for the people I serve.

Today, my personal experience allows me to meet clients with both professional expertise and genuine understanding. I know what it's like to feel unheard, and I believe everyone deserves care that looks beyond the obvious.

What It's Like to Work Together

Healing isn't about finding the "perfect" technique.

It's about listening carefully enough to discover what your unique story is asking for.

No two people work with me in exactly the same way. Some sessions involve traditional psychotherapy, while others incorporate somatic approaches, Neuro Emotional Technique, or other holistic tools that help us understand what's happening beneath the surface. Together, we choose the approaches that best fit your goals, your comfort level, and your needs.

My role isn't to "fix" you.

It's to help you reconnect with the wisdom that's already within you while providing the guidance, tools, and support to help you move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and peace.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, eating disorders, physical symptoms without clear answers, or simply feel like you've lost yourself along the way, we'll work together to understand the whole picture.

Because lasting healing rarely happens by treating just one piece of the puzzle.

Experience and Expertise

If you've tried everything and still feel stuck, I'd love to help you connect the dots.

Together, we'll explore what your mind, body, and spirit may be trying to communicate—and create a path toward lasting healing.
